Six things to try in a trial.

Make it produce a Register from your own data

Not a demo tenant. Load ten of your providers and ask for the fifteen templates of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2956. Most of the work is the forty-odd columns no ordinary risk tool collects, and a product either has somewhere to put them or it does not.

Check the closed lists, not the layout

Around twenty columns accept only the regulation's own codes. A tool that stores "Cloud Storage" where S17 is required looks complete on screen and is rejected on submission. Ask to see what happens to a value it cannot map.

Ask where a value came from

A supervisor's first question about any figure is which record produced it and who last changed it. If the answer is a screenshot, the audit conversation will be long.

Separate the questionnaire from the tiering

Sending an 855-question SIG to a payroll supplier is how a programme stalls. There should be a short screening set and a decision, recorded, about who gets the long one.

Find the single compliance score and distrust it

An average of six unrelated percentages produces a reassuring middle number from full evidence and an empty Register. No supervisor issues a compliance percentage, and neither should a product.

Count what the AI is allowed to decide

Model-assisted review is useful and wrong often enough that it must never set a status on its own. Check that every finding waits for a named person, and that the trail records who accepted it.

A buyer's guide that cannot say who a product is wrong for is an advertisement. These are the cases where you should buy something else.
